What is Ruby reading?

In the book Beyond Behaviors: Using Brain Science and Compassion to Understand and Solve Children’s Behavioral Challenges, Mona Delahooke, Ph.D. provides strategies to use in schools to help deal with difficult behaviors.

I really liked some of Delahooke’s worksheets. She has a clinical approach but some very good ideas. I totally agree with her emphasis on compassion.

Having been a high school English teacher, I love a good piece of fiction. And if you know anything about Louisiana and the bayou, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens resonates with that experience.

There would be many ways to dissect this book: The structure is fascinating, as is the development of characters. It made me think about aloneness very differently and how talent can develop in aloneness. If you want a good story with an unexpected ending, this book is for you.
