Addressing the Challenges of Poverty national conference presentation spotlight

The Life Guides program at Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan takes a new approach to dual generational service. This 20-year partnership with families allows staff and families to build lasting relationships that become the foundation for growth. This is all rooted in the idea that services need to be individualized for families and not use a one-size-fits-all approach. Join this session to see how Bridges and Getting Ahead weave into this life-changing model. Learn more about the ongoing evaluation from the Western Michigan University Evaluation Center, including the current outcomes.

Learning objectives include:

  • How a program unattached to state and federal funding creates a win/win for families and the organization
  • How asking for nominations from the community helps locate participants who are ready for a new opportunity
  • How individualization of programming is the key
