The Pope took the name Francis because, “thinking of the poor, [he] thought of Francis of Assisi.” In those same first few days, his first articulation of a vision for the church came as Pope Francis said, “How I would love a church that is poor and for the poor.” Doing our best to carry forward that call, Catholic Social Services is pleased to announce their theme and speakers for their Annual Breakfast with the Bishop on October 3, 2014 at 7:30 a.m. Their theme will be Building Bridges out of Poverty.
