A tribute to Richard DuFour

February 9, 2017 Published by

It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Rick DuFour. I had the pleasure of working with him from 1986 to 1990, when he was the principal of Stevenson High School in Illinois. I was working with the regional service center in Grayslake, Illinois, during that time. We served all the school districts in Lake County, Illinois.

Rick made an incredible contribution to the educational community with his work on professional learning communities. He reframed the discussion on professional development for educators. While the work will continue, the clarity of his voice and thought will be missed. His contribution to the profession is lasting.
