The letter began …

“Dear David,

“Since we introduced writing chapters of their life story every few weeks using CatchMyStory, I can see our guests healing each and every day.”

Danny should know about healing. His life was going very well. Great job with frequent promotions as an IT manager for a major bank. Then his “friends” introduced Danny to recreational drugs to help unwind after a long day and on weekends. Before he knew it, he lost his job, spent time in jail, and was homeless. He graduated from the same drug recovery program where he now leads the IT department and counsels addicts and homeless men to help them to a better life.

Danny’s letter went on: “I see them staring at the screen as they ponder and search for the words to tell their story. I watch them in the computer room holding their heads in their hands, crying as they read and digest what they wrote. And I see their confidence grow towards the end of their story as they begin accepting their past and writing about their future.”

CatchMyStory is a web-based program that makes it fun and easy to write your life story. It was designed for those with low to moderate computer skills. It has proven to be a valuable tool to add to an existing program, helping people bridge from a life without direction to one of recovery and hope.
