Stillwater C.A.R.E.S. (Community And Resource Empowerment Solutions) is an organization that puts relationships first. We proactively extend our sphere of relationships and influence in order to connect strategic and influential people to one another. We do this to creatively and collaboratively address the prevention and alleviation of poverty. Therefore, a multisector, multilevel approach to networking is critical to meet that objective.

Join me in attending the Bridges Out of Poverty national annual conference: Addressing the Challenges of Poverty to be held Sept. 30-Oct. 1, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together, we will learn about key issues from practitioners who will speak to issues of common interest. We will glean new insights and helpful resources toward reducing poverty. Personally, I will be speaking about community collaboration – something that doesn’t happen overnight! Therefore, we will explore the vision, values and view needed to compel multisector engagement in your community and beyond.

Quinn Schipper 2Together, we will make new friends and colleagues. We will introduce them to others whom we already know, as well as to one another. We will learn about each other both personally and professionally. We will exchange contact information. We will post photos and quips on social media. We will help one another be even more influential in our respective fields.

Together, we will make a difference beyond the conference. We will apply what we’ve learned and move the poverty reduction needle just a little bit more. We will help people get ahead and build resources for a better life. We will continue to strengthen a movement that contributes to the transformation of our communities and those whom we serve. Let’s meet in Oklahoma City. Together, let’s meet the challenges of poverty head on!
