Three women in China Grove, North Carolina have set up a Bridges Out of Poverty program in their community. Originally drawn towards foreign mission work, the women found their calling with those less fortunate people right around them in Rowan County, central North Carolina. The Bridge Builders program, they say, represents a step forward, “moving from where you are to a more stable life, with more tools to help yourself.” While the organization does help with immediate needs like food, it focuses more on goal-making and long-term planning.
