A new Bridges Out Of Poverty program in Miami, Florida will teach families how to access resources, tap into their own talents, and escape poverty. This 20-week, 10-person class will meet once a week to learn and share ideas and strategies for supporting oneself. This new program is inspired by the success of other Bridges Out Of Poverty programs all over the country. This newest Miami chapter hopes that its students will learn to prosper and teach others to do the same, like many other Bridges Out Of Poverty graduates including Paul Marquez of Ottowa County. “Sometimes I wondered how we were going to make things work. And, people helped me,” Paul recalled. “I manage a Workforce Center now. I get to help people that were in the same situation I was in.”
