There is no single, magical strategy that raises test scores but a key factor in improving achievement for under-resourced students is helping teachers see and understand poverty differently and equipping them with tools, tactics and strategies to support students more effectively.
That’s just what Lowndes County School District in Mississippi did. By working with aha! Process they
- Saw an increase of 5% in “Proficient” or “Advanced” scores in mathematics on the MCT2 for third graders.
- Saw an increase of 1% in language arts scores.
- Saw 62.5% of seventh graders scoring “Proficient” or “Advanced” in mathematics on the MCT2 at West Lowndes Middle School.
