In Santa Rosa County, Florida, Santa Rosa Bridges board members and volunteers are actively involved in the communities that they live and work in to ensure that they are hearing the needs and concerns of those who benefit from Santa Rosa Bridges, a Bridges Out of Poverty community.

Santa Rosa Bridges turns this information into resources that are available to the Santa Rosa community. Santa Rosa Bridges’ largest project is hosting Getting Ahead sessions throughout the year. The initiative will begin their twelfth Getting Ahead class in 2018.

Santa Rosa County District Schools, a Santa Rosa Bridges partner, recently launched a pilot with the Florida Housing Organization to provide rental assistance to families with school-aged children. Karen Barber, director of federal programs with Santa Rosa County District Schools, says this is not only a housing initiative, it is a school success initiative.
