Tucker Signing Strategies for Reading provides a powerful decoding strategy. Use it with any conventional reading program!
Hand signs prompt associations between letters and the sounds they represent. The best part is that learners enjoy it—especially reluctant readers and those with learning disabilities.
Readers see the letter, make the sign, and say the sound at the same time. This multisensory combination creates new readers by helping them achieve their first successes in decoding.
Tucker Signing Strategies also gives the observer insight into what is happening in the reader’s mind. The strategies can be used with people of any age who read between kindergarten and third-grade level.
