Teachers Get Poverty Workshop (08/15/2013)
This video features teachers participating in a Bridges Out of Poverty workshop to better understand their students from poverty. In Southwest Georgia, the Lee County School District “has seen a rise in their economically disadvantaged student population in recent years.” The district invited Ruby Payne to workshop faculty and students about how to identify, train, and take advantage of people’s skills and talents, which can go unused and unappreciated in communities that lack basic resources.
