Judy’s aha! moment

My aha! moment happened on the day I met Dr. Payne. I was presenting at a state conference in Indiana. When I went to my room to set up, I noticed a crowd of people around the door. The room was packed. As the presentation finished, I introduced myself to the presenter, Ruby Payne. I was amazed at the number of people that attended her workshop. After meeting Dr. Payne and learning about Framework, my professional and personal life changed forever.

Judy’s passions?

My passion is for children. As a teacher and presenter, my work centers on providing children with the best education available. I believe Dr. Payne’s work provides me with a lens that assists teachers in seeing their students with new eyes and understanding of how to teach all children to learn.

Judy’s best training

My best training happens when members of the audience talk to me during the breaks to tell me that for the first time, “That makes sense,” “For the first time, I understand,” or,

“You are describing my life,” or “Thank you, this means so much to me,” or “After this workshop, I will never teach in the same way.”

What does Judy do for fun?

Recently, I had the opportunity to cross an item off of my bucket list when I moved to California. As a consultant for aha! Process, I traveled to California many times and realized I would love to live there. I currently live about five miles from the beach. I love walking on the beach and enjoying the weather. I also enjoy being a volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank.

What are people saying about Judy?

“Judy has a passion for this work. It shows in her life stories and enthusiasm.”

“This reminds me of ‘teach to’s.’ This training was very appropriate for our kids/families. It helped me understand why some behaviors happen, which helps me think more objectively about how to solve the problem. It also helped me look at what I might do/say to cause a problem. The speaker was very clear, concise, and organized. I actually enjoyed the presentation.”

“The information was staggering and definitely opened my eyes about many of my kids. What I need now are the strategies to help these kids.”

“I think the presenter, Judy, did an AWESOME job. I really enjoyed the information given and found it eye-opening! Thank you!”

10 Actions to Educate Students

“This is the best workshop I have ever attended. Judy has a heart for this work.”
