Addressing the Challenges of Poverty national conference presentation spotlight
Eddie Polanco has been personally impacted by the transformative influence of “bridging the gaps.” His personal journey that began with Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World has progressed to organizational initiatives at the City Mission in Schenectady, New York, and has expanded across the region through new programs like Empower Health.
Eddie’s journey is a model for what can happen when intentional efforts to “bridge the gaps” across individual, institutional, and communitywide relationships result in individuals and families “staying ahead.” Empower Health, the newest and widest-reaching initiative that Eddie is a part of, is demonstrating the impact that Bridges/Getting Ahead constructs are having at every level.
