A Minneapolis organization called People Reaching Out to Other People (PROP) recently held a Bridges Out of Poverty workshop in Eden Prairie, a suburb of Minneapolis near Lake Minnetonka, at Hennepin Technical College on May 8th, 2014. The workshop highlighted an often ignored problem: suburban poverty. Bridges presenter Jodi Pfarr discussed the hidden problem in detail and explaining how it is simultaneously perpetuated and concealed in Eden Prairie and other suburban communities. “She was able to paint a really descriptive picture of what it’s like to experience generational poverty,” said attendee and PROP case manager Karmen Black of presenter Jodi Pfarr.
