About Shelley Rex

Shelley Rex, M.Ed., of Huntsville, Texas, started in education in 1978, teaching struggling-to-gifted learners from preschool through college. She taught in Virginia, North Carolina, and Texas and was a college counselor for students with disabilities. Rex presented at the local, state, and national levels. As an administrator, she worked as the director of elementary mathematics in Spring Independent School District and was responsible for PK–5 mathematics curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Her experience in curriculum and instruction also included director for K–12 mathematics, science, ELA, social studies, and professional learning. As an aha! Process consultant, Rex provided academic coaching in mathematics and science nationwide, and she presented A Framework for Understanding Poverty, Research-Based Strategies, Raising Achievement with 9 Systemic Processes, Common Core State Standards—Unpacking and Implementing, and elementary and secondary mathematics workshops. She was an expert in helping teachers apply Ruby’s research. She passed in 2016.
